Ask the receiving hospital how it wants the imaging delivered before uploading anything. Request the study files it needs, include the corresponding report, and confirm that its team can open the material. A screenshot or a message saying “sent” is not confirmation that the requested study is available for review.

There is no single submission process for every hospital in China. This guide organises the handoff; the receiving service decides its requirements and whether a remote review is appropriate.

First, distinguish the images from the report

The report is the radiologist's written interpretation. The images are the study itself. RadiologyInfo.org explains how people can obtain and share both with another provider. Ask the imaging facility for the requested study, rather than assuming a portal's report download includes the images.

DICOM is a standard for exchanging and managing medical imaging information. It does not guarantee that any particular upload service or hospital system will accept a file. Ask whether the receiving team requires DICOM, how to export the study and whether it needs earlier examinations for comparison. Do not convert or rename the study's internal files just to make an upload easier.

Confirm these details with the receiving team

Use the hospital's verified instructions and confirm the recipient through its official contact channel. Avoid public sharing links or posting medical files in a forum. This website does not receive or review medical records.

Keep a small transfer log

Keep your own copy. RadiologyInfo.org describes copies on electronic media and transfers between facilities; availability depends on the providers involved. Ask how long a portal link remains usable and what to do if it expires. A successful upload is a technical step, not a clinical interpretation.

If the transfer does not work

Tell the receiving team exactly which step failed: obtaining the study, uploading it, opening it or matching it to the request. Ask the originating imaging department and receiving service to agree on an alternative. Do not decide yourself that another scan is needed because a file will not open; that question belongs to the clinicians.

Finally, ask whether the reviewer has everything needed to proceed, what remains missing and how missing material limits the opinion. Receipt does not establish acceptance for treatment or a confirmed travel plan.

Use the full medical records checklist for other documents and the quote comparison worksheet for financial preparation.
